Monica Benner is a Mexican-American fashion lover that started her career working in Miami for Vogue Latin America. After a few years, she moved to Paris to work Women’s Wear Daily, the largestfashion-industry trade journal in the world, where she learned about trends and retail. Monica continued her fashion career in New York City where she specialized in trend forecasting and helped numerous Latin American designers, factories and retailers in their design and manufacturing objectives.
After 20 years in the fashion industry, Monica established Solana Beachwear, a purpose-driven clothing and accessories brand, focused on the principles of sustainability, the slow fashion movement and fine craftsmanship. Monica works directly with local artisans across Mexico to bring to life her designs while supporting these struggling indigenous communities to preserve their traditions and their love for Mexican handmade artistry.
